Our company successfully constructed Green roofs in the school complex of the 26th High School of the Municipality of Thessaloniki. The construction concerned the complete coverage of the roof in each building of the school complex (6 in total) and the total area was 1500m².

The construction aimed at the aesthetic and energy upgrade of the building, the improvement of the microclimate with a direct impact on the health of students, the increase of urban greenery and finally the effort to return the flora and fauna to the city by creating natural ecosystems like this.

The intensive Roof Garden operation utilised specialized materials by ZinCo and always followed the international (FLL) and national specifications.

The plant species we used are all endemic to the wider Mediterranean flora, which can adapt quickly to the local climatic conditions of the strongly structured urban fabric of the Municipality of Thessaloniki. Finally, the irrigation of the plants was constructed using the automatic irrigation system and for the tertiary network we used linear pump piping.
